MK3DHUB is a Manchester-based sole-trader business providing 3D printing, CAD design, prototyping and related services. Contact us at info@mk3dhub.com or 07479 419 089. Our postal address is provided with quotes and on invoices.
These terms apply to consumer and business customers. If a written quote or separate signed agreement sets a different term for a particular project, that project-specific term takes priority.
Quotes and approval
Quotes are valid for 14 days unless the quote says otherwise. A quote describes the agreed work, price, assumptions and any expected timing. If the project requirements change, we may need to revise the quote.
Work begins only after you approve the quote and any design that requires your approval, and the agreed advance payment has cleared. You are responsible for checking that the approved design, dimensions and intended use are correct before production.
Payment
For larger projects, the quote will require either full payment in advance or a 50% booking payment, with the balance due before collection or dispatch. The quote will state which arrangement applies. We do not begin design or printing until the required advance payment has been received.
Parts remain with MK3DHUB until the full amount due for the order has been paid. Any balance must be paid before collection or dispatch.
Cancellation and refunds
If you cancel before work has started, we will refund the full amount paid. Once work has started, we will calculate a fair deduction for work already completed and reasonable costs or materials bought or committed for your project, then refund any remaining balance. We can explain the calculation if you ask.
If you are a consumer, any statutory cancellation rights that apply to your contract remain in force. If you want us to begin a service during a statutory cancellation period, ask us in writing when accepting the quote. If you then cancel, you may have to pay a proportionate amount for the service provided before cancellation. Exceptions for made-to-specification goods or other work apply only where the law allows them. We will explain the applicable position with your quote.
Collection and delivery
Delivery is usually by tracked Royal Mail. We will confirm the delivery charge in your quote; it is based on the applicable postage rate plus packing materials. Please check that the delivery address in your order is correct.
We will share tracking details when the order is dispatched. Delivery is treated as complete when you, or someone you identify to receive the order, take physical possession of it, subject to your statutory rights.
Files and intellectual property
Files you provide: You confirm that you own the files and materials you provide, or have permission to use them and ask us to make the requested work. You are responsible for checking that the requested work does not infringe another person’s rights.
CAD design service: Unless we sign a separate written intellectual-property transfer agreement, MK3DHUB retains ownership of the CAD design and grants you permission to use the delivered files to print the designed part yourself. You must not pass the files to another person or print provider for manufacture. If you cannot print the part yourself, MK3DHUB will produce it for you exclusively. Any broader use or transfer of intellectual-property rights must be agreed in a separate signed document.
Reverse engineering: Where we recreate a part from your original part, measurements, sketches or other references, MK3DHUB keeps the resulting CAD model. The agreed deliverable is the physical part, which you may use as you choose. We will not sell or supply a customer-specific design to another customer without your written permission and an appropriate rights check.
Part suitability and use
We do not accept safety-critical, life-support or similarly high-risk applications. Tell us how a part will be used, including any significant loads, heat, chemicals, outdoor exposure or flexibility requirements. We will discuss known limitations and material options with you before work is approved.
Printed parts can vary because of geometry, material and manufacturing process. You are responsible for checking a part before use and ensuring it is suitable for your application. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded, including rights relating to goods or services that do not meet legal requirements.
Your legal rights and complaints
If something is wrong with your order, contact info@mk3dhub.com and describe the issue. We will work with you to resolve it. These terms do not remove any rights you have under consumer law.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you may also be entitled to bring proceedings in the courts where you live.
